This class is for dogs that know the Basics, but... *You taught your dog some basic manners, but you need or want more. We can help you with that. *Maybe you have an adolescent dog that just needs a refresher. We often work on that. *Maybe you just adopted a dog and he's having some trouble adjusting to your home. We are here for you. *Or perhaps you just want to teach your dog some fun tricks or games. We can help with that, too. Private lessons are just that. Lessons are tailored to your needs. From a refresher of the basics to helping that adolescent dog who is pulling on leash, lessons at K-10 are tailored to fit your specific needs. First time clients attend a free orientation class where you learn about positive reinforcement training and a bit about how dogs learn. Your dog does not attend the orientation class, but it is open to anyone who may be working with your dog. Consistency is critical when training so ensuring everyone is on the same page is so beneficial for your dog learning experience. We then send you home with a simple training task that will jump-start your dog for his/her first class. Following orientation or for returning clients, you and your dog have five private lessons. Lessons are usually weekly, but because they are private, flexibility is built in. NOTE: This class does not address serious behavioral issues such as aggression. See A Diamond in the Rough for that.
